Bathrooms are one of the main places people have trouble organizing. All different sized containers, bottles, hair product, towels, hair brushes, make-up, nail polish, perfume, extra supplies…the list goes on and on! Good things professional organizers exist!
I recently wrote a blog post about a measurement mishap involving a bathroom project, and well, here’s the bathroom!
Here’s the before…
(Top cabinet where all the little things were kept)

As you can see, the client had great intentions with getting the additional wire shelves, but it still needed more.
Here’s the after…
A place for everything, and everything in its place!
I took everything out of the cabinet and categorized them into fabric bins. I also took a picture of her shower curtain, so when I went shopping for bins, I got ones that coordinated. (It’s the little things!)
The fabric bins aren’t only great to look at, they’re functional as well. Before going to the client’s to work on the bathroom, I printed these cute labels on cardstock at home. I typed up every category I could think of using my before pictures as reference, used a paper cutter, then brought the stack of labels with me. Once I got everything in its place, I selected the corresponding label. I purchased self-laminating labels from Target in the stationary department, and “laminated” the labels I wanted to use. You never just want to use paper labels without a protective cover…they’ll get dirty and tear up in a hot second!
Here’s an up-close of the labels and twine that I used to attach them…
Another amazing find was the acrylic make-up organizer. I also found this at Target for around $15. Gets all those little things organized without having tons of bags or a “caboodle” that takes up a lot of space. I also love this because you can see everything you have in one place.
Here’s the before…
(Bottom cabinet)
One of the main problems here was there was no shelf. Without a shelf or drawers of some sort, things easily got piled, making it difficult to see what the client had.
Here’s the after…
These huge plastic drawers were about $20 each from Target. Sounds expensive for ONE plastic drawer, but it is a small price to pay to have a functional space. The only other option would be to get wood cut to fit as a shelf, but you would still have to buy bins in addition. These drawers are much easier and fit great in the space. Each contains smaller items such as make-up and travel bags, and miscellaneous items such as curling irons, hair straightener, heating pads, hot curlers, etc.
Now, everything is pretty, organized, and functional!
